Planning to Change Blog Layout…
Soon, so don’t be surprised when you log on one day and it’s suddenly changed or under construction or something.
Been busy lately, haven’t touched my graphic tablet for weeks and the Fruity Loops program doesn’t look very newbie friendly. Still trying to grasp the basics, so if someone could answer some nooby questions from me, that would be great 🙂
That’s all,

Life, Study and Stress
Those three words sum up what I am feeling and doing right now.
Life keeps getting in the way, whether it would be through studying, practicing the piano or violin or just trying to get enough exercise to keep my body healthy. My schedule feels extremely cramped right now, and it is causing me so much stress that I feel pretty…well, depressed is the only word for it.
My piano exams are coming very soon. I’m lucky, actually – the date has been moved 3 weeks forward. The pupils being taught under other teachers in my area have to do theirs this week! I think God just gave me a gift from heaven. Now I have some extra time to practice.
Piano exams are my biggest worry. Not only do I have to get my songs up to tip-top shape, I need to really, really practice my technical work – scales, arpeggios, whatever else. And my general knowledge. Oh Lord, my general knowledge! It’s the reason why I’m on the computer right now – because I’m studying stuff about the major Musical Periods, Ancient Church Modes and searching up definitions of terminology I think I should ought to be knowing.
Oh yes. School has just started today. And I fell sick during school because my health hasn’t exactly been up-to-date. Now I seriously need to get some exercise in my day before I drop dead. The time to fit all this in? I don’t know where.
Stress. Stress. Stress.
Hopefully, this will soon be over.

“A lot of emotional stress that people go through, some people figure out a way to handle it. They have a strong enough support system to keep going and keep moving forward. And some people, they feel like they don’t have that outlet.”
Being Busy Lately
Hey there guys! I’m sorry for not posting in a while. God knows, you probably thought I abandoned the blog after one day. No, I was just busy with stuff. A lot of stuff.
For one thing, I was practising my violin a lot for my musical assessment, and I need to practise my piano and musical theory for my piano exams in three weeks. Yes, I am going to be extremely busy for the next three weeks, but I’m just dropping by to let you know that this blog is not abandoned. At all.
Apologies,
Sakurahime
Cry of the Willow
Sakurahime here~
So I’ve just been fiddling around with Aviary’s Myna program. Myna is a program, that is part of the Aviary suite, that can mix music and loops sourced from places like SoundCloud and Quantum Tracks. Not the best music making software on the net, but I’m pretty impressed with it since it is freeware. It has essential features like multi-tracking and drag-and-drop arranging, as well as the ability to change the tempo. Pretty good, if I say so myself. You can check it out here.
Unfortunately, since I can only use loops because I don’t have a MIDI instrument and cable (heck, I don’t even know if Myna supports MIDI) I could only create a song based purely off Quantum Track loops (since most songs on SoundCloud are copyrighted). I have made a song lasting 1:20 minutes, and am pretty satisfied with the result.
The song is called “Cry of the Willow”. It represents the lonely days of the willow tree and its hope to be recognised amongst the more taller and dominant trees stand alongside it. It is a sad and mystical piece. Hopefully, you will be able to understand the weeping of the willow through this song, despite it being made entirely on loops.
Click here to listen to “Cry of the Willow”
Note: The above link will open a new window and take you to my Aviary account. Just play it in the Aviary music player. Sorry for the inconvenience because I can’t seem to use the HTML code for the player.
Enjoy my first song made on Myna!
EDIT: The Aviary Suite shut down in September. I don’t have a copy of the song anywhere, so you guys won’t be able to listen to it. Sorry for the inconvenience :C
New Blog, New Start
Alright, since this is my first post on my new blog, let’s start with the introductions, shall we?
My name is Sakurahime.
I guess all you need to know about me is that I’m a very musical person. I love listening to music, especially Japanese and Korean songs. I love all types of music, in particular Pop, Rock, Dance, Ballads, Electronica, Classical and Visual Kei. And boybands
I love reading  Manga and watching Anime in very unhealthy amounts. I also draw manga in my spare time.
I play the piano and violin and I love singing in the shower, even though I haven’t taken any professional singing lessons yet.
I also adore the Japanese language and am currently trying to learn it. It is a fun experience and I really love Japanese culture.
As for the reason I’m making a blog, it is to post stuff I create like:
- Songs
- Poems
- Stories
- Lyrics
- Drawings
- And my daily going-ons
I guess the purpose of this blog is to track my progress as a composer, writer, artist or whatnot. And you guys are the audience!
